For copyright reasons it is not possible to publish a detailed map of the walks, but below are written directions which may help you if you arrive too late for the start of the walk.

East End Ramble

On exiting Whitechapel tube station turn left walking towards Mile End Road. Continue along Mile End Road and take the first turning on the left to enter the road parallel to the main road. Retrace your steps along Mile End Road and cross the road at the junction with Cambridge Heath Road. Continue into Whitechapel Road as far as the Royal London Hospital. Cross the road at the crossing, turning to the left along Whitechapel Road. Turn right into Court Street. Turn left along Durward Street and pause on the corner with Vallance Road. Turn left into Vallance Street, cross Whitechapel Road into New Street and turn right into Fieldgate Street. Turn right into Plumbers Row. Turn left along Whitechapel Road. Turn right into Osborn Street and continue into Brick Lane. Pause at the junction with Fashion Street on LHS. Continue to junction with Fournier Street. Continue across Buxton Street as far as no 160 on RHS. Retrace your steps along Brick Lane as far as Princelet Street. Turn right into Princelet Street. Go left into Wilkes Street and left into Fournier Street. Continue along this street for a short distance. Retrace your steps along Fournier Street to the junction with Commercial Street. Turn left into Commercial Street, right into Whites Row, left into Toynbee Street and right into Brune Street. Turn left into Tenter Ground. Turn left into Whites Row. At the junction with Bell Lane/Crispin Street turn right and almost immediately left into Artillery Lane. On LHS where the road turns to the right and the footpath (Artillery Passage) to the left is no. 56. Go straight ahead down the passage and at the end turn right into Sandys Road. Return down Sandys Row as far as Frying Pan Alley on LHS. Continue along Middlesex Avenue as far as Aldgate Avenue on RHS. Continue as far as St Botolph Street and turn left. Cross into Mansell Street, and continue until the road bends to the right at the junction with Prescot Street. On LHS is Goodman’s Field PH
